Residents and visitors were quick to notice the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) helicopter when it landed in the Homebase car park, off Yaxham Road, on the afternoon of Monday July 16.
Although called to attend to a patient, it was stood down on arrival. But pilots Rosh Jaypalan and Rob Gleave were in no rush to leave and invited locals to a rare glimpse up close.
Local photographer Ivor Linington was lucky enough to grab some shots of the aircraft before it took off again.
Taking to social media, he posted on the Dereham Community Notice Board group on Facebook: 'Just had the pleasure of seeing the East Anglian Air Ambulance land at Homebase carpark in Dereham.

'Thankfully no casualties were taken on board, so the crew allowed the public a close look. Well done Rosh and Rob, real gentlemen, wonderful public relations, smiling faces in the emergency services. We salute you!'
It is believed that the crew were originally called to treat a man with breathing difficulties and he was later transported by ambulance to hospital.
