A woman from Norfolk has been left heartbroken after finding her pet cat so badly injured that he had to have one of his legs amputated.
A freak accident has left the family cat in need of desperate surgery to save his final back leg, with the prospect of him having no quality of life - the pet owners are desperate.
Holly Goldspink, 31, who lives in Dereham found her cat Peanut with his legs shredded to the bone after coming back from playing outside.
Rushing him straight to a vet in Fakenham, she was told that he would lose his right leg. His other back leg was also injured in the accident which was thought to be caused by barbed wire.

Miss Goldspink said: "As soon as I found him I rushed him straight to the vets, both his legs were punctured and there was so much blood. We waited 24 hours to find out his leg wasn't salvageable, then he caught sepsis in his left leg.
"That was five weeks ago, and nothing got better, so we've had to give him to the vets to stay overnight until he's not sick anymore but we have no idea how long that will be."

Miss Goldspink's insurance covered the initial surgery and vet bills but the second hospital trip is causing a huge strain on the family while she takes maternity leave after the birth of her newborn.
A gofundme has been set up to help with Peanut's vet care, with the hope that he makes a full recovery and is returned back home.
