A mobile food shop supporting people with the cost-of-living crisis is back on the road following ‘technical issues’.

Breckland Council said last week its Mobile Food Store service had been suspended due to a problem.

But the council said the service would be visiting villages again from today (July 18).

Earlier this year, an interim vehicle stepped in after the original bus suffered a breakdown before it returned to the roads.

The service offers healthy, nutritious food and store cupboard staples at a reduced price - as well as access to expert staff trained to offer wider support such as advice on debt management, isolation, loneliness and mental health, and will signpost customers to a range of services that can offer further help, where needed.

Councillor Tristan Ashby, executive member for health and communities at Breckland said: “All affected service users were contacted by Breckland Council to check on their current needs."
