Battling against a brain tumour, former football captain Peter Moore found himself moved by the camaraderie of his former teammates during a fundraising match day.
Paul Sandford, owner of the Railway Tavern in Dereham, organised the family fun day on August 13 in aid of Mr Moore, raising more than £3,000 for him and his family.
The match was played at Bradenham and Mattishall football club, and saw the club's all-stars take on a team of Yaxham/Holt all-stars.
Mr Moore said: “I want to thank my family and old friends for such an amazing turnout.
“I thoroughly enjoyed watching all my old teammates trying to play football again. It was nice meeting another legend of the game, Peter Mendham.
"A big thank you to Paul Sandford for planning this day.”

The game finished 8-6 to Yaxham.
Well-known footballers Dean Windass, Micky Quinn, and John Hartson sent video messages of support for Mr Moore.
Trevor Cook and Leroy Brown were both thanked for their donations of signed Chelsea and Norwich shirts, which were auctioned off.
The money raised will help Peter and his family make some memories.
Mr Sandford described it as a "fantastic" day that drew more than 350 people.
He said: "The weather was very kind and the footballing community turned out in droves.
“The smile on Peter’s face was priceless and memories were made."
Other attractions at the charity match were bouncy castles, provided by Ben Duncan, music from Filthy Rich Events, and a barbecue put on by Mark Hodgson.
Mr Sandford said others he wanted to thank were "Jas and Marlene" for their bakes and Veronica for organising a raffle.
