The central path of a new 160-acre country park will soon take shape.
The walkway through the green area in Dereham's north-east has been marked out, ahead of works planned to take place in September.
Dereham Town Council bought the land in 2021 as part of a project that is more than a decade in the making.
The park will bridge Neatherd Moor in the west with Etling Green in the east to form a vast area of open space accessible to the public.
Hugh King, mayor of Dereham, said: “It has been great to see this area develop over the summer, despite the difficult weather conditions in May and June.
“The path is part of the gradual evolution of the park which will see nearly a mile of hedging being planted over the winter and additional paths being mowed out in the spring”.
Other works on the park started in March. This included the development of two ponds to support a variety of wildlife. There are also plans to start woodland planting.
