An investigation into the mystery of disappearing trees on one of the county’s busiest roads continues.
National Highways has confirmed that its investigation into tree felling on the A47 at Dereham is still ongoing.
It is trying to uncover who is responsible for chopping down the trees on the verge of the A47 after their disappearance close to the westbound A1075 exit.
National Highways confirmed the investigation at the beginning of last month and says it is still ongoing.
The trees had been growing a few metres from the fence of the Greentrees Caravan Store.
However, the business had said it knew nothing about their loss when asked in February.
An analysis of Google Maps images over the last 11 years shows that the row of trees has gradually dwindled, with only one left standing.
An array of stumps where the trees once stood could also be seen.

Breckland councillor for Dereham Withburga ward, Harry Clarke, is hoping the mystery of who or what felled the roadside trees can be solved.
“I welcome the investigation of course," he said.
"The trees would have provided some screening and contributed a small part to a noise buffer.
“As this appears to have taken place on Highways land it is very mysterious.
“I do not know about the age or condition of the trees - there may be passing or nearby dash cam or CCTV footage, but that is for the authorities to follow up."
We approached Breckland Council for comment on the situation, but it declined. Dereham Town Council had welcomed the investigation.
Greentrees Caravan Store has been approached for a further comment.
