Several community pharmacies in the region are set to continue opening over the Easter bank holiday weekend, it has been confirmed.

NHS Norfolk and Waveney has commissioned more than a dozen community pharmacies to open their doors over the Easter break.

While the chemists will be operating on limited opening hours, the hope is that the move will help ease pressure on hospital emergency departments.

The move will see some pharmacies open both Easter Sunday and Monday, while others will only open one of these days.

However, other pharmacies may opt to open on a voluntary basis on Good Friday and Easter Monday as well - with most continuing ordinary opening times on Saturday.

The opening hours are as follows:

Easter Sunday:

  • Lime Pharmacy, Thetford: noon to 4pm
  • The Clock Pharmacy, King's Lynn: 10am to 2pm
  • Dereham Pharmacy:10am to 2pm
  • Fakenham Pharmacy: noon to 4pm
  • David Jagger, Wells: 8am to noon
  •  North Walsham Pharmacy: noon to 4pm
  • St Stephen's Gate, Norwich: 10am to 2pm
  • Hunt's Pharmacy, Norwich: 2pm to 6pm
  • Beccles Health Centre: noon to 4pm
  • Greyfriars Pharmacy: Great Yarmouth: noon to 4pm
  • Queen's Street Pharmacy, Southwold: noon to 4pm

Easter Monday

  • Lime Pharmacy, Thetford: 9am to 1pm
  • The Clock Pharmacy, King's Lynn - 1pm to 5pm
  • Dereham Pharmacy: 11am to 3pm
  • St Stephen's Gate, Norwich: 10am to 2pm
  • David Jagger, Wells: 9am to 1pm
  • Church Street, Cromer: 11am to 3pm
  • Town Pharmacy, Great Yarmouth - 10am to 2pm
  • Hurn Chemist, Cringleford: 2pm to 6pm
  • Cutler's Hill Pharmacy: Halesworth - 9am to 1pm
  • Rosedale Pharmacy, Lowestoft: 2pm to 6pm
