A special visit from a theatre group made it a day to remember for a care home resident.
York House Care Home arranged a surprise for a resident, Heather Barnard, who spent more than 40 years with Dereham Theatre Company and served as its chairwoman for three years.
The cast of Sister Act from Dereham Theatre Company put on a performance and met the residents which particularly thrilled Heather.
Her contribution to the company included leading roles in musicals and pantomimes.
She directed pantomimes and also worked behind-the-scenes prompting and supporting props.
Manager Mariana Soare said: "We were very fortunate to be able to welcome the cast to the home for a short performance and to meet the residents.
"The smiles on faces of the residents was lovely and of course it was a nice surprise for Heather – she really enjoyed it.”
Heather's previous theatrical group, Dereham Theatre Company will perform Sister Act at the Dereham Memorial Hall from July 23 to July 27.
York House Care Home is planning to organise a visit for residents to see the show.
