A Norfolk village pub has closed its doors, with a search for new landlords now under way.

The Sun Inn, on Beccles Road, Bradwell, announced its closure on Facebook on Monday.

It is now available to run, on a fixed term tenancy, and is being advertised on pub group Stonegate's website.

The Facebook post from the pub said: "It is with a heavy heart to announce that the Sun Inn will now be closed in preparation to hand back to the brewery this Friday, August 16.

"I would like to thank everyone who has supported the pub for so long and especially the all the staff who have worked so hard to keep the place open over the years.

"The new tenant, whoever they may, be will inherit a very special place and we wish them all the best."

One former member of staff commented: "It was such a good pub. Craig and Andy as managers were amazing and really supportive, especially when it come to family and illness."

A spokesperson from Stonegate said: "The Sun Inn is currently recruiting for a new publican, as the current publican’s lease is coming to a natural end.

"The local community hub is new to the market for the first time in 25 years, and is a popular social gathering space in the area.

"The pub has a lot to offer any local publicans looking for a new challenge, boasting a much-loved beer garden and split-level space inside.

"If you are interested in running the pub, please enquire on our Pub Partners website."

The Sun Inn has been approached for comment.
