A community lunch event in Dereham has been praised by a deputy lieutenant.
The monthly event, hosted by Love Dereham, sees dozens of people come together for a hot meal and to socialise.
At the September event, deputy lieutenant Rose Barnes said: "I was impressed by the warmth of the welcome from you and your volunteers to the lunch guests.
"Not only did you provide a delicious lunch but the companionship on offer to regular and new guests was lovely to observe.
"Thank you and your team for all your efforts in promoting and supporting the strong community spirit that is very visible in Dereham town."
The lunch took place on September 10 at midday, with 55 guests and 14 volunteers.
They were served cottage pie with fresh vegetables and gravy, followed by chocolate tarts with cream and peaches, and hot drinks.
Athena Poole, Love Dereham coordinator, said: "People who are feeling lonely at lunchtime, or are unable to afford to take themselves out for a meal, are encouraged to come along and will be warmly welcomed."
