A 15-year-old girl is set to represent Great Britain in the Women's Wheelchair Rugby World Cup.

Millie Partridge, from Dereham, was selected for the international competition, which will take place in Paris this December.

This is the first international competition for the young athlete, who was also selected for the wheelchair rugby GB Talent Squad earlier this year.

Alongside studying for her GCSEs, Millie trains with wheelchair rugby 5s teams Norfolk Knights and Northampton Saints, as well as competing for the North East Bulls in the Paralympic discipline.

Millie said: “I enjoy the speed and physicality of wheelchair rugby.

"It gives me an outlet like no other sport.

"To be picked for the Women’s World Cup is such an honour, not only because I get to represent my country, but also because this shows a wide and diverse community that they deserve to feel strong and capable.”

Millie became a quadruple amputee due to complications from chickenpox at an early age, and is now working towards her dream of becoming a Paralympian.
