Staff of a well-known caravan store that is due to close at the end of the month will be branching out to start their own ventures with two new businesses.

The owners of Greentrees Caravanstore, in Dereham, announced earlier this month they would be retiring and closing their depot after more than 50 years in business.

Three of the 14 employees who were affected by the decision will be launching their own businesses on November 1.

The two new businesses are Caravan Gurus and Caravan Hub.

Jarred Froom and Robbie Elliott, technicians for Greentrees, will be the new owners of the Caravan Gurus.

The company will be a technical centre based next to the old Greentrees location and will offer all types of work including standard services, full body repairs, equipment upgrades and manufacturer warranty work.

The Caravan Gurus will also have its own body shop centre, which will be equipped with a purpose-built facility that allows for temperature adjustments using dry heat in paint spraying.

This business will focus on pre-owned caravans and will offer pre-servicing and full valeted services.

When Greentrees Caravanstores announced it would be closing, Neil Greentree, whose father founded the business in 1971, said he and his brother Justyn were "immensely proud" of the business they built.

After announcing the launch of his employees' new businesses, Mr Greentree said: "I am super proud that our staff are following their dreams and we will be doing everything we can to support them on their new endeavours."
