Bradenham Cricket Club hosted the ECB County Under 11 girls softball cricket finals on August 16.
On a lovely sunny day, teams from Old Buckenham, Denver, Bradenham, Hethersett and Tas Valley, Aylsham St Giles, Reepham & Salle and Swardeston played group competitions before Denver ran out as champions beating Old Buckenham in the final.
Girls' cricket has blossomed throughout the county, and the chairman of Bradenham CC, Tim Evans, said he had nothing but praise for the competition.
Mr Evans said: “We were very happy indeed to host the competition finals.
"The numbers participating in girls and ladies cricket has rocketed recently with great support from the Norfolk Cricket Board, and with over 50 U11s girls taking part today.
"With as many mums and dads cheering them on, it really was a picture on the Green. We’re also hosting the U13s equivalent next week and anticipating another great day for girls' cricket, weather permitting.”
